FINISHES & MAINTENANCE

Polished on the top and edges. Handmade in Madagascar.
No special maintenance required. Preferably, use warm water and mild detergent on an uncolored soft cloth for cleaning. Sealer products and wax can be used like usual process applied on other marbles and granites.
Do not use strong chemical products with high Ph. Avoid to put hot materials directly on the Gem Surfaces®. Avoid to scratch the surfaces with metal or abrasive materials.

More about Chestnut Jasper

Chestnut Jasper is a gorgeous Gem Surface. Some say this rare variety of Red Jasper can be described as pigeon-blood red in color, with endless oceanic swirls. It is easy to lose track of time, while being mesmerized in this Gem Surface. Jasper is a microcrystalline variety of chalcedony. Chalcedony is a durable gem surface even harder than standard Quartz.
Jasper, a form of chalcedony, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color. Blue is rare. This mineral breaks with a smooth surface, and is used for ornamentation or as a gemstone. It can be highly polished and is used for vases, seals, and at one time for snuff boxes. When the colors are in stripes or bands, it is called striped or banded jasper. Jaspilite is a banded iron formation rock that often has distinctive bands of jasper. The specific gravity of jasper is typically 2.5 to 2.9. The jasper is also a stone in the Jewish High Priest''s breastplate, described in Exodus 28.
